Tips if you are going to do Caving in Spain

When you enter through a cavity in the mountain, you light the front and look around you, you’ll see that caving is a totally different sport to the rest, and is also adding the adventure part, will allow you to discover places that doesn’t look nothing you have seen before.

1. Discover a whole hidden world

You may be used to walking through nature and have traveled forests, beaches or mountains, but there is another type of unknown landscape and you can discover it by going through a section of the hundreds and hundreds of kilometers of caves that exist. These places, totally deprived of light and exposure to the exterior rather than narrow entrances, maintain the conditions of the original Earth. There is no hint of vegetation, instead we will find an extraordinary variety of formations in the rock, which have been generated in a process that lasts for millennia.

2. Feel again just like a child

In our day by day, we are not used to enjoy fun activities like climbing rocks, duck and climb on the ground, pass through narrow walls and enjoy the purest game among nature. Is time to become a kid again to forget about all worries and dedicate, for one day, to have a great time in the middle of the subterraneans, like an adventure park for grownups and children. Of course, children can also come and enjoy caving since the initiatory trails does not require high technical level.

3. Don’t worry to get dirty

Relax, we are all shocked by the idea of rolling around on the floor and filling ourselves with mud, but this should not be an impediment for you to come and try this new adventure. To begin with, you are going to wear an integral jumpsuit that will protect you from neck to ankles. Of course, you must bring an old footwear, or else you do not mind that it gets wet and dirty. You will also wear a helmet that will protect you in the areas with lower ceilings, in case you do not calculate the distance well.

4. Discover what is total silence and absolute darkness

Once you have walked enough to not see any outdoor light, you can make the test to seat for some seconds, stay in silence and turn off the frontals. Then, you will know what is to see and hear anything. Whilst in the outdoors, this is really complicated to achieve because of the conditions makes it just impossible. This is total tranquility. You do not have to be overwhelmed, you just have to press the button of your flashlight again and you will perceive everything perfectly.

5. Do you want more action? Dare to try speleology-caving

There exists different types of speleology, more technical, but also there exists a modality of subterranean caving that is carried out with river’s channel that are underwater. This challenge is just perfect for the most adventurers! You will swim in ponds, go rappelling, and slide through natural slides, but everything with the frontal’s light and under a rocky ceiling. This activity can be enjoyed under very specific conditions.

Are you prepared to enjoy a speleology session?

If you are sure, you just need to choose the destination. In the zone of the Cordillera Cantábrica, you will find a multitude of peaks and caves to explore. There are also many options in Cuenca, Albacete and Alicante. In the Pyrenees of Huesca you can also enjoy many adventures underground. As for the southern zone, Malaga is the richest in underground routes. And, if you prefer the islands, Mallorca is your destination. The year’s season is not a problem since we will be far from the cold and hot weathers, although you need to look for rains since some caves can flood.
