Description of Barranco de Aján complete with video and picnic
Come and enjoy one of the most complete and fun canyoning descents in Cantabria. Located in the Valles Pasiegos, the Aján ravine is one of the most exciting aquatic canyons you will find in the area. And what better way to enjoy it than to explore it completely.
We will access it from Vega de Pas, where the access is located with a path that runs on both sides of the river. For this we will meet at El Cruce, a restaurant located in this town and from which we will leave together towards the canyon.
After a 45-minute journey along the banks of the river, we will arrive at a bridge where the descent will begin. Throughout the route we will find numerous obstacles that will delight lovers of this sport: rappels of different kinds, slides, siphons and even a 10-meter jump.
We will find a unevenness of 160 meters and a total length of 1600 meters. The route, which will be guided at all times by our qualified monitors, takes place along a path in the upper part of the ravine, leaving us just below the Engaña tunnel and its old prison.
The section of the ravine ends at Salto del Oso, from where we will immediately return to the car park where we left the vehicles. To make this day totally unforgettable, in addition to all the necessary material for the descent, we give you a photographic and video report so that you can relive this day whenever you want.
*Activities subject to the formation of groups of at least 4 people.
- Canyon descent.
- Helmet, harness, neoprene suit consisting of 2 pieces of 5 mm thickness, neoprene socks.
- Picnic with water and a bar.
- Backpack with waterproof bottle.
- Video.
The descent lasts approximately 5 hours, although it depends on the pace of the group.

After a small incident regarding the availability of the chosen day, the company did everything possible so that we could do and enjoy the activity.
The very nice monitor made us enjoy a lot, he recorded the best moments for us, wanting to see the final video. The ravine is very good, we had just done another initiation last year and this time we wanted to do a more intense one. Slides and rappels with more height and more fun.
