Description of Visit Valencia's Old Town, Half DayWe want to show you the center of Valencia with this unique guided route, what are you waiting for?
We are going to go around the historical side of Valencia, established in 138 b.C., and where many different cultures have lived in.
We will start our route in The Northern Station, one of the main symbols of local railway architecture, founded in 1917.
Then, we will move to the City Hall's square, with a facade built into the Real Casa de la Enseñanza and dates back to the 17th century.
We will see the Central Market, a modernist building with a total area of 8000m2.
Right in front of which we will find the Lonja de la Seda or Lonja de Los Mercaderes, where all the commercial transactions used to take place. This is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Spain (Heritage of Humanity from 1996 by the UNESCO).
Then, we will go to the Plaza Redonda, 34 buildings placed around a fountain, a unique construction of the past century.
Valencia's cathedral will be our next stop, built on the remains of a Roman temple and transformed into a mosque later on.
We will also visit the Virgen de Los Desamparados Basilica, patron saint of Valencia.
This route will come to an end in Torres de Serranos, a huge door built to protect the city from outer menaces.
