Description of Route to Artenara: the 100 valleys routeCome and start this wonderful route that begins in Cruz de Tejada and continues edging its boiler towards Artenara.
You'll get to enjoy the beautiful views from the mountains, while you see the landscapes of its ravines and the rest of natural monuments that Gran Canarias island is known for.
You'll see the Roque Nublio while you get close to Bentayga and to Altavisa and Acusa, two fascinating areas where you can enjoy the view and take lots of pictures.
You can go inside the Caballero Caves on your way to the pinewood forests and get to discover how and where lived the local people of the island.
The atmosphere of the pinewood trees will make you feel like in a fairytale and you'll see the trails that used to be taken to do transhumance. And if the skies are clear you'll be able to see the Teide and the clouds around it, that give it an outstanding atmosphere.
The route will end once you get to Artenara, which is the highest village of the island, where you can visit the Virgen de la Cuevita. Also, you can visit the Cave Museum and find about the secrets of the people who used to live on the island.

The route departs on Mondays from the south of Gran Canaria, and on Tuesdays from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
