Hiking in the hills of Alcalá de HenaresSKU: 23171
Description of Hiking in the hills of Alcalá de HenaresYou don't need to visit the mountains to enjoy a great hiking route!
Our suggestion is an excursion near Alcalá de Henares (30 minutes away from Madrid), in Los Cerros.
It's an area that has great ecological and cultural value.
Our guide will show us the two different habitats that we're going to see: the one in the riverside of henares, and the Mediterranean pine forest.
During this route, we'll be able to see Celtic-Iberian and Islamic settlements. For instance, we'll see the Arabian "alcazaba" Qal´at Abd-al Salam or Salam's Castle, which is the same.
We'll go up to the top of the Ecce Homo hill. We'll learn different tales about this territory there. Furthermore, we'll also enjoy the views of the mountains, "el corredor del Henares", or even the capital.
Our guide is a Mountain Engineer and graduated in Environmental Sciences.
This route can be done any day and it's suitable for all ages. We can also adapt it for school groups, companies, families, etc.
If you have a special request, feel free to ask. We'll work hard to please you!
If you come in a full moon night, we can start our route at noon, so that we arrive at the top of the Ecce Homo when it's getting dark and we can watch the Mosaic made by the lights of each city centre.
It's a spectacular route that you can't miss!
