Kitesurf is invented by a Dutchman in the 70s when he came up with the idea of using a kite to surf without having to wait for waves to catch them. Today it is one of the most demanded water activities on beaches around the world, especially due to its low learning curve. With the Spirit Kite School Kitesurf courses you can check it out by taking a course that will take you from the rookie level without any experience to a sufficient level to be able to do kitesurfing on your own, without the need of anyone's supervision .
The courses are given on three levels:
- Initiation: This course is given on land, and is designed especially for people who have never done kitesurfing. The main objective is that everyone ends up driving the kite and can get an idea of how it will have to unfold once in the water.
- Baptism: In this course you will have the first contact with the water using all the material. The main technique that you will learn here is the body drag. This technique is essential for kitesurfing since it is used to move through the water without the board (in case, for example, you have fallen and have to recover the board).
- Waterstart: The name of this course refers to the other great technique of kitesurfing. The waterstart is used to start navigating the table. Having mastered this and the spinning technique, you can go kitesurfing whenever you want.
The courses can be one day or several, for one, two or three people. In Spirit Kite there are also surf and snowkite courses (sport similar to kitesurfing but practiced on snow).
