The Pueblo Escuela Abioncillo is managed by the Cooperativa del Río, which has been organizing summer camps with environmental content since 1983. Our facilities are in Abioncillo de Calañatazor, and there we organize the camps.
Our summer camps revolve around the following themes:
- Routes from Abioncillo, divided into long and short. The short ones last about 2 hours, the long part-time (morning or afternoon). These tours are accompanied by a series of environmental games. In addition, we organize excursions in which we combine nature with the cultural heritage of Soria. The excursions can be part-time or full-time. Some of the destinations of these routes are: Fuentona de Muriel, Maja Cave, Calatañazor, Pinar de Muriel, Fuente del Requebrajo, Bosque de la Mata, Night Walks, the Black Lagoon, Canyon of Río Lobos, Soria Capital, Route of the Banishment of the Cid, Medinaceli and Ambrona or the Route of the Icnitas.
- Workshops of crafts, environment and communication. Organized in small groups and with an approximate duration of an hour and a half. They consist of a previous talk followed by the completion of the activity by the students. The workshops are: workshops of river, birds, essences, renewable energy, recycling, soap workshop, astronomy workshop, wickerwork workshop, dressage sticks, popular games, textile workshop, ceramics, radio workshop, Press, organic garden, climbing, cespinos, candles or juggling among others.
The accommodation is done in houses owned by the Cooperative. We offer bus transportation from Madrid for those children whose parents cannot take them or pick them up.
The camps are held for fortnights during the months of July and August and are aimed at children aged 8 to 14 years . The registration period is now open, so ask us for information about requirements and do not leave your children without a place in the camps of Pueblo Escuela Abioncillo .
