Barranco de la Salud is formed by a rural complex that organizes activities in the magnificent environment in which we are located, such as the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.

We have activities that can meet the needs of any age, both for adults and the smallest of the house. You can do everything from skiing to cross-country skiing and even Nordic dog sledding. If you preferred heights you can try hang gliding and paragliding. Leaving aside the clouds, on land we have routes on horseback or 4x4 vehicles, hiking, bike rides and rock climbing and already in the water we can decide on canyoning.

We are in an area called the Biosphere Reserve and we are about 1100 meters high. There the air and the environment is different, you breathe better and we have all the means to practice all these activities.

Our rural accommodation is a complex made up of 6 houses, each one of a different size depending on the number of people, up to 30 people, with all the comforts at your fingertips to make you feel at home or better.

- The ravines in the province of Granada are so varied, both in number and within their own sections, that we can choose just the level of complexity that you are able to complete.

At Barranco de la Salud we intend that during the time you stay in any of our rural houses, you have something new to do every day and one of our most valuable ideas to achieve it is hang-gliding flights.

The high delta is an aerial environment full of charm because its absence of an engine allows it a more direct contact with the natural environment. At takeoff, it can even be done after a light run.

Before meeting you with the flight instructor, we will have made sure that he has the official qualification that allows him to practice as such and take you with him on this air journey. This way we minimize the risks that you may run. And of course, don't ever put yourself in the hands of anyone on your own because it is your physical integrity that is at stake.

Get on a tandem flight that will leave the entire Sierra Nevada mountain area under you. You will notice the amount of detail that is not appreciable from the ground. In Barranco de la Salud we do not want you to miss anything if you come to stay with us, and that is why we will propose that one of the days that are part of your relaxed vacation you go paragliding.

The main advantage of this medium is that you will pass over the Sierra Nevada Park and you will get a complete impression of all its landscapes. However, there is another very important one that you probably do not know: there are no drastic sensations. Knowing this you can put fear aside and that is that in the paraglider the take off does not produce any sensation of falling down. In fact, it only takes a little race and it is the current itself that lifts you up.

We speak in the plural because you will never go alone. The paraglider is managed by a professional pilot used to flying with another passenger. This allows you that, despite being a discipline for which a lot of experience is required to guarantee safety, you will not need to have any because it is your partner the instructor who takes care of everything.

We have accommodation to accommodate families and groups and all of you can request the activity. Of course, you will fly one by one with the pilot.

At Barranco de la Salud we have known for a long time that Sierra Nevada is a clear synonym for skiing. That is why we have prepared ourselves so that, every time winter arrives, you can enter the slopes or stay parallel to them with any of the variants of this sport.

- We will ski directly on the slopes of the station. As you can be calmly lodged in our nearby rural complex, you can get up early and take advantage of the opening from the first hour in order to take advantage of all the available daylight hours. Keep in mind that all activities finish at around 5:00 p.m.

- If you prefer to escape for a few hours from the agglomeration of the station, throughout the Port of Ragua there are areas where cross-country skiing is possible. We will equip ourselves with this material to move up the slopes, in a calmer way, almost walking, so it is still an intense physical exercise.

And remember that, as for accommodation, you can come to visit us in large groups because far from being a simple rural house, we have a complete complex.

In Barranco de la Salud we can organize a day in contact with mushing, one of the most successful sports of winter but limited to so few areas that we are proud to be able to bring you closer to it.

Today's mushing comes from a traditional form of transport that was usually used in countries where snow covers their landscapes for most of the year. We are forced to limit it to winter only, but it is such a beautiful sport that it is worth waiting for. It is curious to see how these dogs are able to move around and work as a team to move us around in their sled. Besides knowing exactly what they have to do, they let themselves be guided by the guide, someone who is always prepared for this role as it cannot be carried out correctly if you are not a previously trained "musher".

The routes that we usually take are short and as they do not involve any type of effort or danger, they are perfectly suitable for children, aware as we are that they are the ones who most enjoy learning about these animals.

And to sleep, after each day, the cozy and warm houses that make up our rural complex will be waiting for you, but do not forget to reserve because the accommodation places in Sierra Nevada are in high demand.

At Barranco de la Salud we feel privileged to have the Sierra Nevada area next to our complex. Thus we can offer you the best cross-country skiing, a variant of the white sport in which we will do long distances on surfaces, mostly flat, or at least those that allow us to move as if we were walking.

When choosing the itinerary, the main thing will be to think about the distance that we are able to cover, since this discipline requires a lot of our effort. The recommended minimum is 2 and a half kilometers and we will be able to reach, in the case of being very prepared, the total 10 kilometers of route. We will also take into account that we are in the mountains, with a minimum altitude of 2,000 meters.

Come with us to Los Laroles and let us give you both the material and the basic instructions to get into this sport. Surely one of these outings will leave you exhausted but when you rest you have the rural complex that we have at your disposal, without leaving the area.
