Club Hípico Barrika

At the Barrika Equestrian Club we put you in contact with horses from a perspective of 15 years of experience that have allowed us to meet your needs in the equestrian world.

Our facilities are located in Vizcaya and have a large covered track for classes and training, stables where we take care of the animals so that they are always in perfect condition, padocks, outdoor fields, an area for the preparation of horses. and lockers so that riders and amazons can safely leave their personal belongings. We also have a social club to share the best moments with friends with the same hobby.

The main activities we do are:

- Horseback riding : we go out throughout the year along the coasts of Barrika-Plentzia and Barrika-Sopelana.

- Dressage clinics : run by the most qualified trainers with the aim that they can perfect their knowledge and skills.

- Intensive training courses of theoretical and practical dressage and initiation developed during festive and vacation periods.

- Preparation of gallop exams : we help to pass the tests regulated by the Basque Horse Riding Federation.

- Activities for kids : especially outside the school calendar in which they can participate from the age of 3.

Ride the most magical places on the coast of Biscay with the Barrika Equestrian Club . We remain available 7 days a week to offer you the most beautiful excursions for all levels.

The paths we usually do on the backs of our animals are:

- Along the coastal coast : riding through Barrika-Plenztia and passing through Barrika-Sopelana with the opportunity to appreciate some of the most significant beaches in the area. At the initiation level we dedicate 1 hour for a distance of just over 4 kilometers. For advanced riders we go out for 2 hours and a half.

- To Butrón Castle : promptly we approach this building of medieval origin that belongs to the municipal boundaries of Gatika. Through the town of Urdúliz we reach Mount Ganzuri before seeing the walls of this construction. It is usual that in our itinerary we find animals that are not native like a zebra that lives in these places or llamas. More normal will be to see peninsular species such as deer grazing in the natural areas we will ride through.

In the Barrika Equestrian Club we dedicate a special section to small from 3 years through recreational activities that ponies and horses have in common. We organize them in times when children are on vacation, such as Christmas, summer or when Holy Week arrives.

We establish morning schedules working with them in small groups to be able to give them all the attention they need at this vital stage. We prepare for them:

- Games : we will look for the stuffed animal lost by the facilities of the equestrian center, we will hunt magnificent soap bubbles and we will know our animals much better.

- Workshops in relation to riding concepts and ponies: crafts, time for food or painting.

All this allows our young participants to learn to maintain a healthy relationship with their own partners and the horses that live daily in the equestrian developing the motor skills of their age. Also during these hours you can take the opportunity to work or do your tasks allowing a better reconciliation with your personal life.
