From Compañía de Guara we take you into the world of adventure in the mountains with activities in the ravines and canyons of the Sierra de Guara , one of the environments with more possibilities of the Pyrenees in the province of Huesca.

The Sierra de Guara is located within the Natural Park of the same name and is home to the highest concentration of ravines in the entire continent, providing us with a lot of variety and showiness.

At Guara Company we do :

• Canyoning: The star activity of the Sierra de Guara is canyoning or canyoning. The great variety of routes and the spectacular nature of its narrow valleys make it a must. From the most affordable routes to those only indicated for experts.

• Via ferratas: A curious way to cross the steep terrain of Guara is through the cables, bridges, ladders and other elements installed in the rock that help us to travel it without great technical displays.

• Climbing: A purely sporting activity in which we simply climb the walls until we find the top of the mountain. There are more than 500 routes throughout the Sierra de Guara to climb.

• Hiking: A more relaxed plan but that can be equally showy and even demanding with week-long routes through the Sierra de Guara, the Bárdenas Reales or the Costa Brava.

The team of monitors will guide the day and improve our performance in each activity as well as provide us with the necessary material.

Welcome to the region par excellence to practice canyoning : the Sierra de Guara . In this mountainous area of the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees the highest concentration of ravines and canyons in the entire European continent.

In canyoning all kinds of accidents happen both on the rock and in the water, an activity with high water doses in the mountains.

We have the ravine that adapts to your physical level and experience:

• Level I: These ravines have little unevenness and easy rappels. It is recommended from 7 years of age. Some sections to start are the Vero River, Formiga River, Estrechos del Puntillo, Petit Mascún, etc.

• Level II: For these ravines, previous experience is not required either, although a sufficient physical level to endure a whole day on the mountain is not required. There are rappels somewhat longer than 15 meters. The Vero River Canyon, the Formiga Canyon or the Balcés Canyon are some of the enclaves.

• Level III: Here dexterity is already an indispensable requirement to overcome the many obstacles that are presented to us. Long journeys that can take up to 5 hours, so a very good physical condition is necessary. Ravines such as: Fornocal, Gorgonchón, Mascún, Cueva Cabrito, etc.

• Level IV: The most spectacular and complicated ravines only for experienced and very physically prepared people. Routes that last up to 12 hours in the best known points of Guara such as Gorgas Negras and Portiacha.

The approaches to the ravines vary depending on which one we are going to make.

We will be accompanied by the guide in groups of no more than 10 people.

In all the ravines that present aquatic stretches it is essential to have notions of swimming.

We have hiking trails through the province of Huesca and other areas of Aragon and Navarra with which you can do outdoor sports and discover natural enclaves such as the Sierra de Guara or the Bárdenas Reales .

The duration of the routes is highly variable and can be a few hours or many days, with the minimum physical level or a great preparation for long walks.

The one-day routes take place in the Sierra de Guara where we will cross canyons and gorges between some of the most diverse rock formations.

To do tours of several days we have this catalog of routes:

• River Vero Natural Park: A complete itinerary through the Sierra de Guara and its canyons and ravines.

• Desierto de las Bárdenas Reales: We cross this desert area between Huesca and Navarra.

• From Collioure to Cadaqués: Journey through the Costa Brava and its fishing villages.

They all extend for 7 days and 6 nights.

The groups will be organized around 15 participants, the minimum being 6.

The Sierra de Guara and its Natural Park is an area where climbing is a pleasure given its spectacular walls and ravines. With its more than 500 climbing routes you will find what you are looking for.

We have climbing areas for all tastes, with sporty, classic and extreme routes with complicated edges only for experts.

The climbing zones are:

Rodéllar : In this enclave we can find up to 400 different routes in 35 sectors with all orientations. Almost all run through the Mascún river ravine with pools to bathe in the same climbing area. Most routes are of medium difficulty.

Alquézar : This area has more difficult routes, with few initiation routes (5th grade). Up to 100 different routes.

The guides will lead us through the entire route from the approach section to the climbing routes.

The equipment will be essential in any of the routes, being provided by the team.

We look for the most vertical and daring routes between the cracks and rock gorges of the Sierra de Guara , in the Pre-Pyrenees of Huesca. The via ferratas arranged are the natural path that we use through the stone with bridges, cables, ladders, rappels and other elements that we must put into practice.

The paradise of canyoning and climbing is the Sierra de Guara, with a very high concentration of routes to do. These are the via ferratas that we can cross:

• Holy Christ of Olvena

• Spur of the Virgin of the Castle

• Peñas Juntas Bierge

• The bridge

There are easier routes, with few or no abseiling and little unevenness to discover the via ferratas for the first time and other itineraries that have steep slopes and obstacles that require technique and skill.
