Description of Club de Orientación Colmenar

The Colmenar Orienteering Club offers us a first approach to orienteering through activities with which to learn about this exciting sporting specialty.

Orienteering is a sport in which each participant must complete a route passing through all the controls included in their category. The one who spends the least time completing the route will be the winner.

In order to carry out the activity, you will provide us with a series of aids:

A detailed map of the area. In it, the route is painted with a series of circles. The center of each circle indicates the exact location of the control.

A control card that has a series of boxes in which you must “prick” with the nail pliers that are on each control.

A controls description card. It is a list with all the controls in your category and their reference number.

The rules are very simple:

It is prohibited to deliberately follow another counselor.

The participant who does not find any control is eliminated.

Assistance between participants is prohibited, except in case of accident.

In case of withdrawing from the competition, you must go to the start or finish line to notify the organization.

Extreme respect must be exercised for garden and crop areas, and for private property.

Together we must keep our environment clean, use the means at your disposal to collaborate in this task.
