Vuelo Libre León is a paragliding and paramotor flight club located in León, which focuses its activity on promoting flight sports throughout the province. Among these activities are:
- Organization of competitions at all levels
- Introduction to the practice of paragliding, with courses through the Leones Paragliding School, recognized by the Aeronautical Federation of Castilla y León. Using the newest materials and the most trusted techniques and security measures, they are able to prepare their students to obtain official certificates. They usually organize two courses a year, one at the beginning of the year and another at the beginning of summer.
The basic requirements and information to take the courses are:
- Have the federative license in force
- The processing of licenses for people who do not belong to the club has an additional cost.
- Only licenses will be processed for people who have a pilot's title.
- In the introductory courses, attendance is mandatory and only 4 absences per year are allowed. Once this has passed, an additional cost will have to be paid to return.
- The duration of the courses is about 10 classes, although this will depend on weather conditions.
- The Club provides all the sports materials necessary to carry out the activity and it is only requested that the student wear comfortable, sports clothing and mountain shoes.
As there are many plains in León, and this creates great difficulty when taking off with a paraglider, they are also implementing paramotor flight to overcome this difficulty.
