With water sports it happens the same that with candy: there are never bitter. And is that, whether you love to exercise or not so much, the truth is that is always liked to get into the water and put your body to work.
The possibilities to carry out any sport in the water are infinite, and not all consists on swimming. Any repetitive movement you do, will multiply your efforts, activate you and improve your health.
1. If is hot, more the better
To practice a sport with high temperatures, without a doubt, is one those things that stop us at the moment to do exercise during the most hot months. Nevertheless, when we practice any exercise in the water, you know with security, that even though you are dedicating your time and skills, even though you can be the one who sweats the most, yjere will always be the plus of being able to swim and get refreshed.
It usually happens, for example, with activities that ask for an extra effort like activities with canoes, kayaks, paddle surfing… to paddle continuously, your temperature inevitably rises and, what better that in any moment you can top and swim for a little bit?
2. Infinite possibilities
You hear conversation about water sports and automatically think about swimming, but is that is just the beginning.
You can exercise inside, over or outside the water. Like Surf and its modalities: kayaks, canoes; scuba diving; SUP; swimming; hydrospeed… and like that "to infinity and beyond".
3. More resistance, less calories
The water acts as a “barrier” to us, exercising a pressure that increases the physical effort so, the quantity of burned calories multiply.
Remember that more effort you do in the water, you will be losing more than practicing the same exercise outside the water.
For example, swimming is considered like one of those sports that burn more calories (around 400 per hour). With sports like snorkelling or scuba diving, you will have fun whilst developing a nice body figure.
4. Say goodbye to injuries
Usually, when you suffer an injury is when do something incorrectly, what doesn’t mean that because you are inside the water, this doesn’t happens. But, is true that the possibilities of damaging any articulation or suffer a scratch, are minor things.
A correct praxis of water exercises provides you more advantages to the body than any other training, plus, without the risk on injuring yourself.
5. The sea: good for the body, mind and skin
If you practice any water sport, in general, is a good thing, but to practice it in salty water, the advantages duplicate.
We have talked about the good results that can be appreciated on your body, but for the mid it means an extra doses of relaxation. The immensity of the sea, the intensity of its blue or green or the pressure of our body result as the perfect thing as the cure for stress.
Also, the components that form the salt water like iodine, zinc, potassium are excellent for the skin’s health, so we will exit the sea with all the pores of our body full of vitamin.
When you can practice a water sport?
Because it exists a long list of possibilities, it all depends on what are you looking for in each moment. For the colder seasons, the technology and materials that compose the neoprene suits, will help you to maintain the low temperature far away. Without a doubt, it has become an indispensable complement for some activities.
The best sports and maybe the most known that can be practiced during Autumn or Winter are surfing, kitesurfing, rafting, kayaking in white waters… any type of activity that needs any weather condition like the wind, rain or melted snow.
However, for other activities like snorkelling, paddle surfing, canoeing… it is better practiced in calmer waters and in other words, during Summer months.
But like always, it always depend on the zone you choose to practice any activity, if it is on the north or south, or any other unexpected storm.
