The origin of Arrayan is the result of the intense and passionate relationship with the vineyard and the wine that the owners of Finca "La Verdosa have cultivated for decades. A passion that made them participate in several wine projects in different areas of Spain and that in 1988 encouraged them to try the luck of creating a personal wine project in the heart of this estate.
The Project could not be more ambitious, to create a vineyard based on innovative viticultural techniques, which at the same time was perfectly integrated into the ecosystem of the Mediterranean pasture, and which was capable of producing high quality wines with an intense personality.
Finca La Verdosa, the birthplace of Arrayan , is located in the northwest of the province of Toledo. The 26 hectare cultivated plot, between 470 and 510 meters of altitude, is located in the extreme southwest of the farm.
The soil is deep, well drained, sandy and with a relatively low pH, very unusual circumstances in Castilla-la Mancha. The climate is continental-Mediterranean with an average annual temperature of 26ºC.
The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot varieties were chosen for the plantation. The plantation was carried out in 1999 respecting in its entirety the native holm oak forest that surrounds and sprinkles the vineyard.
