Bodegas Romale

Bodegas Romale was founded in 1989 and is located in Almendralejo , capital of the Land of Barros and nerve center of the DO Ribera del Guadiana. Eminently privileged land for the cultivation of the vine with fertile and nutrient-rich soils , formed by red clay on calcareous rock, with an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The climate is characterized by abundant sun all year round with very hot summers and very cold winters, with the influence of Atlantic winds, with rainfall between 400 and 500 liters per year.

The winery is provided by farmers in the area of Tierra de Barros, using the grapes coming from bottling 300ha of vineyards for bottling, which are controlled directly by our technical staff .

Although in the area the native varieties have been the Pardina and the Cayetana since time immemorial, our winery has chosen to make wines from varieties recently introduced in Tierra de Barros , after the restructuring of its vineyard, such as Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc in white and Garnacha, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mazuelo in ink, being the cultivation of these last four varieties on trellis and with a small support irrigation .

Most of our wines oriented to go on the market as aging or reserve come from vineyards planted in glass, dry land and with an age of more than fifteen years , in their entire Tempranillo variety.

One of the last bets of our winery has been the elaboration of a sparkling wine by the traditional method, starting from the second fermentation of a base wine coupage of the Macabeo and Parellada varieties, from the term of Almendralejo and Welcome to the DO Cava.

Our winery, very aware of the latest trends in the sector, has a large wine tourism room, where in addition to tasting our wines through commented tastings , you will enjoy an audiovisual presentation of it through which will be closer to the different manufacturing processes carried out in our facilities.
