La Partacua

In an impressive valley at the foot of the Escarra, Tres Hombres and Tarmañones peaks, crossing the Escarra river, and in the middle of the Escarra and Tramacastilla reservoirs, the La Partacua bottom station is located , which has a modern treadmill and tracer machine, also a booth with services and equipment rental.

The breadth of the valley makes it possible to trace, without difficulty, up to 45 km of footprint, although usually about 20 or 25 km are drawn. In addition, the station has a training track for dog sledding.

The tracks are located between the municipalities of Tramacastilla, Escarrilla and Sandiniés, between the levels of 1,700 and 1,900 mts., allowing the visitor to slide through a magnificent meadow, crossing the river, bordering the reservoirs and in an impressive place beauty.

The La Partacua cross-country ski resort, located in the Tena Valley, opened its slopes for the first time in the 1999-00 season, showing that it can become one of the the most important Spanish cross-country ski resorts.

The La Partacua resort has, among its cross-country skiing facilities, a training track for dogsledding.

Mushing is an adventure sport in which nature, ecology, environment and love for animals are combined; a man-dog pairing that join forces to face the elements of nature: earth, snow, rain and wind.

The world of mushing is much more complex than it appears to be. Dogs require special attention and other aspects must also be taken into account, such as their compatibility of character, training and their physical preparation.

All this always prior to learning sled driving techniques.

The La Partacua station has a total of 11 marked circuits with a total of 40 kilometers. This station is located between 1615 and 1900 meters respectively.

The 11 circuits for cross-country skiing are distributed as follows:

• 2 Green

• 3 Blue

• 3 Reds

• 3 Blacks

There is no cross-country ski school in the resort, but it is an ideal place to enjoy the practice of this sport freely, through its long and wide slopes.
