In addition to alpine skiing, we also have other slopes prepared for cross-country skiing, a sport that combines the best of skiing with the best of hiking and that will take you to the most unexpected corners.

Cross-country skiing is the best sport you can do with Puerto de la Ragua if you want to discover a surprising snowy world around you. On skis, you will travel countless paths and trails while you slide and cross the most hidden places.
You will not need great experience to do cross-country skiing. The only thing we are going to ask of you is that you are able to stay upright on your skis throughout the entire route. But don't worry because you will quickly realize how easy it is to maintain your balance and explore the mountain in a very fun way.

In addition to skis, you will also need poles to propel yourself and, above all, to secure yourself to the ground. We will leave this material for you at the Puerto de la Ragua as well as a suit that will protect you from the cold temperatures of the Laroles area and the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

You will travel along paths that are more than 2000 meters high on routes that range from 2 kilometers to 11 for the most adventurous. On these tours you can visit surprising places such as the Ferreira circuit, where you will find the most beautiful snowy roads in the region. In Puerto de la Ragua we organize orientation days in two different modalities:

• Orientation circuits: all year round you can enjoy these routes in which you will not miss anything. Along the way you will find tracks that will take you through the forest until you reach the goal and celebrate that you are the one with the best sense of direction.
  
• Ski orienteering: If you come in winter when the snow season is covered, you can try to orient yourself in the snow. Just like in the conventional mode, we will give you clues, a map and a compass so that you can explore all the nature and corners of Sierra Nevada.

Either of the two options that we propose are recommended to do in a group. If you come with children we will make the orientation much simpler than if you come with a group of adults, although in any case we will try to make sure you have as much fun as possible.
