Boat trip from the Arade River to Silves 3h

In Portimão not everything was going to be boat excursions on the sea. As surprising as it may seem, there are also river routes that run in the rivers of the area. People are confused when they think that the Algarve region is only beaches, caves and rock formations in the middle of the sea. The variety of natural places to visit is impressive.

To do this, we are going to propose a boat ride along the Arade River, departing from the Portimão Marina, lasting three hours duration, which ends in the beautiful medieval city of Silves, where you will have 45 minutes to, on your own, explore > this town in the center of the region.

Meanwhile, along this route you will contemplate some vestiges of the artistic and architectural heritage of the region, you will soak up its culture, learn about its history and, in addition, you will observe different species of birds and other animals. Our destination is, as we said, Silves, very famous for its reddish castle with an irregular floor plan, one of the best preserved in the Algarve.

Likewise, a boat skipper directs the boat along the river and gives you the pertinent explanations about the places we pass through. When we arrive at Silves he will also act as a tour guide with a brief introductory talk about the city.
