Barranco del Fornocal level 1 in Sierra de Guara

An exciting canyoning route awaits us, which is why it is considered "the mecca of canyoning in Europe". In the Fornocal ravine, in the Sierra de Guara, we will have a fun and exciting afternoon where we will test our daring while enjoying nature to the fullest: descending through rocks, climbing almost completely inclined walls and plunging into pools of crystalline waters.

Our experience in this entertaining sport does not matter, because Fornocal is a perfect ravine to start being a canyoneer. Its has a level 1 difficulty, so being in an exceptional physical form is not required even if you do need to be in some shape. This does not mean that you do not expect all the excitement that one of the best known canyons in the Pre-Pyrenees area offers, because you have up to 10 rappels of a maximum height of 15 meters.

The best time to tour the ravine is between April and June, since the river's influx is perfect for it throughout the 4 km that it covers. You will have a spectacular view of the Portal de la Cunarda, an indespensable stone arch of this ravine.

The adventure begins at our facilities, which will serve as a meeting point where we will give you an initial training and all the necessary equipment. Then, in our own vehicles we will go to the starting point of the designated canyoning route. Once here, our adventure will properly begin.

We will enter the landscapes of the Sierra de Guara, crying out for you to visit this natural wonder from Huesca. Composed of 3 distinctive parts, each one has its particularity: the first one has a small flow, the second, having already passed the fifth rappel, is doubled. In general, you will find a gray limestone gallery that you will love, pools that open to sunny sections, fun slides, the odd siphon...

We can't think of a more adrenaline-pumping way to descend the Fornocal ravine. And of course, we will take you to discover our best kept secrets of one of the most famous canyons in the Sierra de Guara so that you have a magical and completely unique experience.

After the last section, where we will meet the most technical rappels (up to 4) and from where we will have the best and most spectacular view of the Portal de la Cunarda, we will stop to take a break before we begin our return journey, which will not take us more than about 15 minutes.
