For this canyoning route through the Valdorria ravine we usually meet in the town of Velilla and go together from there to the beginning of the ravine. However, we can also stay directly in the ravine itself. We will depart from Velilla until we reach the closest point possible. Once close we will make an approach of just a couple of minutes. This activity is quite unique because its route is divided into two parts.

The first part of the descent of the Valdorria ravine is perfect to gradually introduce ourselves to this natural hiding place and gradually increase the complexity. This part is hilarious and is full of countless natural slides. The entrance to this ravine begins with a small jump to a pool full of fresh and translucent waters, something typical that you can find in the high mountains of Leon and even more so in these parts, because we are immersed between landscapes such as the Peña San Froilán and the Peña de Morquera.

Overcoming this jump will lead us to a chain of two natural slides, the first 2 meters long and the second 4 meters long. We'll get past this fun start and come up with a more exciting challenge, a 20 meter rappelling descent. It will be really adrenaline to slide down the canyon walls of this ravine at such a height and with a rapid pulse, but this will only be a taste of what awaits us, believe us that what is to come will be much more intense.

Immediately afterwards we come across another succession of slides, specifically 3. It will be like suddenly entering a natural water park, because we will overcome slides of 15, 10 and 20 meters respectively. Ecstatic with emotion and with the tingling of emotion still running through our body, we will stay at the foot of an immense and leafy oak forest that will mark the beginning of the second part.

We will cross the forest under the shelter of the shade of these large trees and we will enjoy a necessary pause after so much emotion that will leave us ready for the end that is coming and that, without a doubt, is the best part of the Valdorria ravine. After overcoming the thickness of this grove, we go over 2 ledges and come across an abysmal void of 30 meters adorned by the emblematic Cola de Caballo waterfall. It will be a rewarding way to finish this varied canyoning route.
