The 1000 Windows of Güímar hiking tour (1000 Ventanas de Güímar) is a very steep route that crosses several old water channels. As it is a fairly difficult track, it is not recommended for those with vertigo. It is intended for expert hikers.
Most of this tour goes through a number of tunnels. For this reason, you should bring a headtorch with you to lit the way.
In old times, the galleries of the valley of Güímar provided water to the entire area, reaching Santa Cruz as well.
These characteristic "windows" were dug by the miners working there, so the cavities of the tunnels did not accumulate any gas.
This hiking tour can take us about 4 or 5 hours, depending on the pace we follow.
The group of hikers for this tour allows a maximum of 8 people.
