Kayak route from Caldelas to Tui, half day

Excursion in kayak of low difficulty of about 7 km, with departure point in Caldelas, where You will descend the Miño river in a very fun route.

It is a quiet descent, but already in the first two kilometersyou will notice how the current helps the kayak a little to move easily.

Although we are about 30 km. from the sea, the tide reaches this point, and if there is a high tide, a kilometer and a half from the beginning of the route you have the option of leaving the main course and going through a channel that has the entrance on the Portuguese shore, and formed by Isla Grande and Conguedo, making its way through the abundant vegetation. A very quiet place that, if conditions allow it, it is highly recommended to navigate.

Using the two options you will leave behind the Isla Grande, through the canal you will come out glued to Portugal and by the normal course on the Spanish shore.

From there you will see that the river is wider and two islands, behind the smaller one that is attached to the Spanish shore is the Areeiros river beach, good place to take a bath.

After the bath and the snack it is time to return to the kayak, there are only 2.5 km left. One more kilometer and you will be able to take a photo with the most spectacular view of the city of Tui. There you will leave behind the marina and the Comandancia de Marina and continue to finish the adventure at the pier of the rowing and canoeing clubs just 500 m from the Tui-Valença International Bridgeand with the city wall of Valença in the background.
