Bike route through Furnas with transport 3h

The Azores hold hundreds of mysteries that you have yet to discover. If you want to know the volcano and the Furnas calderas but you refuse long walks through the mountains, we suggest you take an original bicycle route through the east of São Miguel.

Although the meeting point will be confirmed to you after making the reservation, you will surely leave from the capital of the island itself, Ponta Delgada, which is just 10 minutes from the airport. There you will meet with the instructor and the rest of the group and head to Furnas along the southern coast of São Miguel.

You will need to bring sports shoes suitable for cycling, a windbreaker or light jacket, water, sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses and a backpack where you can store everything. As a recommendation, it would be advisable to bring bicycle gloves.

This MTB excursion through the Furnas Valley is medium-low level, so you shouldn't worry if you don't ride a bike regularly. Throughout the tour you will go around the Lake of Furnas, discovering the boilers of the old volcano and the fumaroles found there.

After overcoming the lake, you will head southwest until you reachLombo dos Milhos, where you will be fascinated by the immensity and beauty of the green landscapes that cover the hills of the area.

At the end of this bike route you will travel again from Furnas to the meeting point, where the activity will have ended.
