Expert mountaineering along the Pico Veleta Corridor

Lovers of the mountains and snow sports, do you fancy a ascent to the Veleta Corridor? I am addressing expert mountaineers directly, since it is an activity that requires expertise and experience both in climbing and in ascents with ice axes and camprones. Of course, following the recommendations of our guide in each step we take.

For security reasons, we designed the activity for 1 or 2 people . We start our journey in the Hoya de la Mora, near the Pradollano ski resort, to make a relatively simple ascent to the Positions of the Veleta > About 500 meter drop.

At this point we have two options, depending on the truce that the weather gives us. Or, go on foot through the Veredón, a narrow path whose difficulty increases considerably when the accumulation of snow is considerable. Or, overcome this section of the path by rappelling down it.

The next challenge is to make a crossing on foot on a steep slope that will make us complete another 300 meters of our route through the Canuto del Veleta. We finish by going up the climbing path known as Fidel Fierro to reach our long-awaited summit of Veleta.

As we consider you to be active members of these mountain practices, we ask you to bring the equipment that you consider most suitable to complete this winter challenge: poles, camprones, ice axes, snowshoes, thermal and warm clothing, gloves, a hat, a backpack with water and food, etc.

We also have the option to rent the equipment if you don't have it. However, we will expand this equipment by carrying technical rescue material during the excursion in case of avalanches, which includes the probe, a shovel and avalanche beacons.
