Via Ferrata of Croqueta de Obarra advanced level

If you go by the Croqueta de Obarra ferrata because of its name, which we do not deny that it is nice, rest assured that you are going to miss a PLA-NA-ZO. This ferrata located in Beranuy is perfect for those with experience and looking for a fairly strong current of emotions, since in addition to the countless challenges it has, this itinerary has a practically 90º closed. Get ready for a 3 hour long adventure that will have your heart racing from start to finish.

The Croqueta de Obarra ferrata is located in Huesca, in the town of Beranuy and apart from its fun, in the process you take in the memories some panoramic views of the dreamlike Isabena Valley. To check it out, coming with sportswear, mountain shoes and water will be more than enough, we will take care of the necessary materials, safety equipment and the previous briefing, so you can ignore it.

We will enjoy a very high and very long ferrata, which takes place over 3 needles, with 4 sections in total and whose difficulty increases progressively. The Croqueta de Obarra ferrata welcomes us in its first section with a drop of 100 meters that we will have to overcome by climbing walls that are not so vertical. On our way we will also come across exits that we can take to overcome this first section through ascents and rappelling progressions.

Once this part is ready, we enter the second section, which takes place in a very rocky area that runs diagonally down the side of the mountain. To do this, we will use a life line and walk parallel to the mountain with our feet on its skirt and head facing the valley. We continue with the help of the lifeline cable and reach a small corridor after having climbed a bit until we reach the third sector.

Already almost finishing we face a wall as colossal as it is vertical and that has several areas marked by its collapses. We will approach a small needle climbing barehanded and helping ourselves as much as we can until we reach an exciting Tibetan bridge. Once we get over it, we continue on our way, we climb a couple of walls and without realizing it we will see ourselves on top of a needle at 1313 meters high.

We will leave this point behind to then enter the final section and once we have lowered the needle on which we were, we will be engulfed by a chimney through which we will have to descend about ten meters through some widely spaced cleats. Once ready, we skirt the mountain to find the second Tibetan bridge, which we will have reached after having crossed a log that acts as a natural bridge and crosses an abyss.

After crossing the two bridges, we will see how an abrupt ledge overshadows us and without hesitation we will climb it, since we will be facing the first challenge to crown the Aguja de la Croqueta. After that we arrive at the third Tibetan bridge, the most spectacular of all because it only has one cable for the feet and to overcome it we will have to make a change of wall halfway in order to finally reach the Croquette Needle, no more and no less than 1396 meters high.

Once here, the only thing left for us to do is enjoy the views and the overwhelming sensations that will invade us and start our way back to complete the Croqueta de Obarra via iron bridge, an imperative route for all self-respecting lovers of this sport.
