Description of Rutas Marítimas de la Cruz

At Rutas Marítimas de la Cruz, a leading company in maritime excursions in Menorca with more than forty years of experience in the sector, we are pleased to offer you two routes of different lengths so that you can get to know a good part of our beautiful island. . Both excursions have both a historical and cultural commentary so you can discover the past and curiosities of the white and blue island.

Aboard the Don Joan, the catamaran with the largest underwater viewing rooms in Mahón, you will enjoy an hour-long tour around the port of Mahón, the second largest natural port in the world. From our catamaran you have magnificent views over the islands that are in the port, such as the naval base, Isla del Rey, Isla de Lazareto and Isla Plana, over the Mola fortress, the Menorcan fishing port Cales Fonts, the town of Es Castell and Cala Llonga, the most luxurious and exclusive area of Menorca. In addition, the excursion offers a commentary on the history and peculiarities of each corner of the port so that you can better understand our island and the military importance of the port of Mahón, evident for centuries. The Don Joan has twenty-four underwater viewing windows spread across four different cabins so you can discover the exciting underwater world and see the endemic species of the island of Menorca.

From the port of Ciudadela, the old capital of the island, we propose a full-day excursion around the southern part of Menorca, with food included strong>, in which you visit the virgin white sand beaches with two stops so that you can walk to the beach and enjoy a relaxing swim. On board our boat, named Fiesta, we leave at 10 in the morning from Ciudadela, we sail along the west and south coast until we reach Calan Turqueta, where we carry out the first stop. Here we moor for two hours so they can get off the boat and walk to the beach. While you enjoy the beach, on board the captain prepares a delicious mixed paella. At 1:00 p.m. we will notify you to come back on board, where we will serve you food. For drinks we offer you orangeade, lemonade or our exquisite sangria, prepared daily by our crew. During mealtime they can repeat both food and drink as many times as they want (so they must keep the same plate and glass).

When everyone has finished eating we will continue sailing along the south coast and slowly pass by the famous coves of Macarella, Macarelleta and Cala Galdana, so that you can take beautiful photographs of the beaches and turquoise water. Upon arrival at Cala GaldanaWe turn to start the way back, but before reaching Ciudadela we make the second stop at the beaches of Soan Saura. Again we are moored for an hour and a half and you can get off the boat and walk to the beach. At 3:30 p.m. we will notify you so that everyone can get on board. During the way back to the port we offer you a tasting of the typical Menorcan drink, the pomada, prepared with Xoriguer Gin and lemonade. We finally arrived at the port of Ciudadela around 5:00 p.m. A fantastic way to get to know and enjoy the most paradisiacal virgin coves of Menorca with all the comforts on board!

Let yourself be surprised by the environmental balance of this wonderful island that led it to be declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993.

How to get there?
To get to the Fiesta boat in the port of Ciudadela, the easiest way is to follow the signs for Port Antic (the old port of Ciudadela, not the new commercial port) that appear on the ring road called Ronda Norte. You must follow the signs until the end, where they are told to turn left. At that moment you will see that there are several parking lots, all free all day. You can park in any of the available parking lots and then have to walk down the small hill to reach the boat. When you arrive you will see a sailor in a red shirt, who will explain how to access the boat. To get to the Don Joan boat in the port of Mahón you can access it on foot from the center of the city of Mahón (going down the Carreró Costa de ses Voltes, the boat is right in front). If you come by car, the easiest thing is to park next to the Maritime Station in the port itself, parking is free for 2 hours (you must write on a piece of paper the time you have arrived and place the piece of paper in a visible place on the dashboard of the car so that the control personnel can check it). Once parked, you must continue walking for 5 minutes (about 350 meters) until you reach the boat.
