Canoe route through Furnas São Miguel Children 2h30

Do you want to sail with your family through the crater of a volcano? Yes, you read it right. On the island of São Miguel a magical experience awaits you in canoe in which you will have 2 and a half hours to explore the valley and the Furnas Lake in a different and original way.

You will meet the monitor at the back of the car park that you will find when you reach the lagoon. Before starting, the guide will proceed to explain the activity to you. Once you are ready, you will put on your vests, climb into the canoes and row to the center of the lagoon. From there you can enjoy in situ one of the most important craters of the São Miguel dormant volcano.

The route will begin by crossing the Furnas Lagoon to the other end, where in addition to being fascinated by the landscapes and surroundings, you will be able to see one of the hermitages that were built there two centuries ago.

The route will end by returning to the starting point to enjoy the fumaroles , a natural spectacle of gases and vapors that the volcano expels through the cracks in the ground. The little ones will be amazed!
