If you are going to discover the Azores soon, you are a nature lover and want to discover all the secrets of the Furnas Valley on the island of São Miguel , you cannot miss this canoe excursion in which you will row through a volcanic crater for 2 and a half hours . Sounds exciting right?

In order to participate in this canoe route it is essential that you bring a bathing suit, water, some food, water shoes (booties, flip-flops ...), towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes dry for later. It is also highly recommended to bring a waterproof backpack to keep your belongings safe from water.

The meeting point for this activity will be at our facilities, after the parking that you will find in the Furnas Lagoon . Before starting this canoe excursion, the monitor will give a briefing explaining the itinerary and giving the group certain instructions.

First, you will go to see one of the craters of the volcano that once shaped the island. Then you will cross to the other end of the lake to see one of the classic hermitages in the area, in the new Gothic style of the 19th century. To finish the canoe route we will go near the shore to the point where we can enjoy the fumaroles.

As a recommendation, you should not leave Furnas without trying the Cozido à portuguesa , a typical dish of its gastronomy based on vegetables, meat and rice. You'll love it!
