Barranco de la Hoz in the Sierra de Gredos 4 hours

In the Cáceres region of Madrigal de la Vera, a canyoning route through the La Hoz ravine awaits all experienced canyoneers that they will enjoy like never before. This 4-hour journey will have all the challenges and extreme sensations that you were looking for. It is full of abseiling, slopes, natural pools and dreamy pools that will give us one of the best ravines to descend.

This ravine, made up of streams such as those of Lucía and El Gargantón, is located in the Sierra de Gredos and can undoubtedly be one of the most precious as well as exciting in its entire range. It is ideal to do this canyoning route between the months of April and November, since its south orientation gives us more hours of light with which to travel this emblematic ravine that promises adventure and fun.

Our descent of the La Hoz ravine will be done in 4 hours, and will begin with an approach through authentic dream places of 1 hour. As soon as we begin we will know why this ravine enjoys so much fame and entertainment, since we will find a secluded pool that we can enjoy as the body asks us, jumping from the heights or sliding at full speed down a natural slide of 6 meters in length. We won't be here for 1 hour, and nature will already be rewarding us with that long-awaited afternoon of adrenaline.

We will continue making our way through these valleys and just 100 meters away we will find the Charco del Infierno. Don't let its antagonistic name confuse you, because it is the most precious pond that we will find along our canyoning route through the Hoz ravine, where, embraced by huge vertical walls of up to 30 meters, we can dive into these waters again as we want, jumping into the abyss or rappelling with a height of 12 meters.

From here is when our favorite part comes, one rappel after another. An endless succession of exciting and intrepid descents with which we will be able to unload all the adrenaline accumulated during the week. First a 10-meter rappel awaits us that we can also jump around. In second place we find another 5 meters. Then one of 4 meters and finally another of 8 meters. A sensation of pure adrenaline that can only rise in our body as we descend more and more gorges of the Barranco de la Hoz.

Although up to this point it has been pure adventure, do not think that we are close to ending, because now there is a chain of jumps to paradisiacal crystalline and refreshing pools that represent a natural Eden, but that do not compare with the last one that we will discover, the Recuencano Pool. In this pool of nature surrounded by a fantasy environment, jumps of 5 and 10 meters await us and also a vertiginous slide of 7 meters long.

To end a day in which strong experiences have been overflowed, we will finish our canyoning route with a 45-minute return that will be perfect to relax after so much hustle and bustle.
