Descent of the Cajigar ravine in Viacamp 4 h

In the colossal Sierra del Montsec there are a multitude of dry ravines in which to have fun in the middle of nature. However, there is one that stands out because it turns out to be the exception. The Caixigar is one of the few Montsec descents that is aquatic and that we should enjoy if we like to descend ravines or want to start. For this, we have planned a canyoning route through Caixigar for 4 hours that will give us an unforgettable experience.

The Caixigar, more than a ravine, turns out to be a ravine, that is, a gorge between mountains. Due to this peculiarity, we will be making a descent into a dark ravine to which not much light enters even though the sun is at the highest point. This means that Caixigar receives the name of "the dark ones of Caixigar", which will give us an unforgettable Barranco sensation.

To begin our canyoning route we will first meet at the Montfalcó Hostel or at the Viacamp tourist office. From this meeting point, we will head to the beginning of the ravine and it will take no more than 1 hour to arrive. After equipping ourselves, we will be ready to begin our adventure.

Our canyoning route will begin by entering a short but deep gorge that, after overcoming it, we will find an exciting 8-meter rappel descent. Once sorted, our body will not believe that it will receive such a dose of adrenaline, since we will immediately have to rappel again next to a waterfall with a drop of 3 meters. Once we have managed to descend and advance a few meters, a fun jump of 2 meters awaits us in a refreshing and deep pool.

Little by little we will see how it gets darker and darker and this will be because the walls that surround us will become increasingly narrow and will give our ravine a more mystical and unique air. Our last stretch will consist of crossing dark gorges that will widen and narrow as we go until we are suddenly out of the ravine.
