Caving to Cuevamur in Ramales de la Victoria

And we are not talking about just any one, but about having the possibility of entering the heart of Cuevamur for almost 8 hours, a hidden and immense cave in the Cantabrian town of Ramales de la Victoria, a town that is almost on the Basque border.

You will only have to prepare a backpack with a towel, a change of clothes and rain boots. This caving route through Cuevamur begins after passing a metal fence that leaves us in a small gallery that we will have to overcome by crawling. Once we have passed this part we see how the cave opens up to enormous dimensions and we will find a descending ramp through which we will have to go down with the help of a rope handrail.

Once this part is done, we find a more vertical section that will lead us to another descending ramp that will leave us in front of the access to the Paso del Cordino. It is a kind of bottomless abyss that we will have to cross with a fixed rope. This part extends up to about 20 meters and places us on a balcony from which we will have disturbing views of the Great Chasm, which as its name indicates, refers to a colossal chasm whose opening seems impossible. never end.
