Description of Cave diving specialty Menorca
Do you have the Open Water Diver or an equivalent diving qualification? Sign up for this cave diving course in Menorca to receive valuable training to make the best dives in complete safety.
Cavern diving is a category of technical diving (XR).
Our goal is for you to be able to dive in grottos or caverns knowing how to resolve possible incidents that may arise during the dive.
This course will be developed over 4 theoretical sessions and 4 practical sessions. The distribution will be as follows:
Theory:
-Diving in aquatic caverns.
-Techniques and use of equipment.
-Plan the immersion and use of signals.
-Safety during cave diving.
Practice:
-Guide thread and signal practice.
-Guide thread installation on the surface and under water.
-Guide thread with low visibility.
-Self-rescue and companion rescue in cave.
Once you have completed the course, you will obtain the specialist cave diver qualification.
The ratio is 2 students maximum per monitor.
The requirements to take this diving course are:
- Have the OWD or equivalent.
- In the case of minors, they must have authorization from parents or guardians.
- Medical certificate from less than a year ago certifying fitness to dive with autonomous equipment.
- Have done at least 2 dives in the 30 days prior to the course.
- Have at least 24 dives when the course ends.
- Bottles and ballast to carry out the dives.
- Instructor.
Minimum 15 hours, which may be extended at the discretion of the instructor.
It is taught in the mornings.
