Tips if you are going to do Diving in Spain

The marine depths hide a lot of secrets, which you can discover with a diving session. You will learn to breathe underwater and to use all the diving equipment. The different beaches and coasts of Spain are waiting for you to live a unique experience. Are you going to stay without knowing what is at the bottom of the sea?

1. No experience? Start with a baptism!

Many of you may have been a bit reticent about the idea of diving, since you have not done it in your life ... There is nothing to worry about, since for the inexperienced, there is the option of diving baptism. The activity is divided into a theoretical part, where they will give you the safety rules and they will explain how to use the material, and in a practical part that consists of immersion. This will always be accompanied by an instructor, at a depth of between 6 and 8 meters, and the duration usually ranges between 30 and 45 minutes. It is the perfect option to have a first contact with the underwater world, and then decide if you want to continue training as a diver.

2. Suitable for adults and children

Diving is the perfect activity to share with the family. If the children are very small, as long as they know how to swim they will be able to carry out a snorkeling session accompanied by an adult. Depending on each Autonomous Community, the minimum age for diving differs. The age to do a baptism is established between 8 and 10 years, and for an Open Water Diver course or similar between 12 and 14 years. The requirements between adults and children are the same: know how to swim and not have any kind of disease that prevents the practice of this water sport.

3. Beneficial for the body and mind

Diving is a complete activity, which offers us very positive aspects when we talk about mental and physical conditions. Do you want to discover what they are? In the first place, you will get to strengthen your muscles, because when you are underwater, the movements are more expensive and to move you will have to move the body completely. You will also improve your psychomotor ability, since the effort to maintain the balance under water will put your cerebral hemispheres to work. And if this were not enough, you will find a unique peace and relaxation when seeing you surrounded by beautiful underwater landscapes, you will be able to free yourself from the stress of everyday life.

4. Practice diving at any part of the world

If you are sure that diving is your thing, and that you would like to dive deeper and discover new underwater adventures every day, you must launch an Open Water Diver course (PADI), 1 star diver (FEDAS) or 1 Star Diver (CMAS). When you finish any of these courses, you will be ready to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters deep and always accompanied. Do not you think it's incredible? But this is only the beginning, if you want to continue specializing you have more courses to complete your level of diver.

5. Explore Spain’s beaches from the depths

In Spain, we have the privilege of having almost 6000 kilometers of coastline adding the peninsula, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Ceuta and Melilla, something that allows you to discover a new seabed every day. More than 400 blue flags on our beaches make many small submarine paradises waiting to be discovered by divers.

When can you practice scuba diving?

As almost all water activities are related to summer and good weather, since it is when you most want to take a dip, however, diving is usually done from spring to autumn and in some places even throughout the year. Think also that you will go with the diver's suit that will protect you from the cold. Of course, July and August are still the preferred months to practice this sport, if you also plan to do it at those dates, you will have to plan your activity in time to avoid running out of availability.
