Where to go scuba diving in Tarifa?

- Isla de las Palomas: If you're looking for a diving site with it all, this island off the coast of Playa Chica is the place to go. This island is part of the Gibraltar Strait Natural Park and is recognised for its diverse flora and wildlife, making it a popular diving destination. Sea turtles, anemones, sunfish, and ancient wrecks are just a few of the treasures found here, which you can see thanks to the island's excellent visibility.

- Las Piscinas: Here, there is an amazing cove with the 'Campo de Laminarias,' a set of rock formations that make this dive site ideal for learning to dive in Tarifa. Groupers, pollack, snails, and galletinas can be found between 12 and 18 metres deep. A diving baptism in Las Piscinas is the ideal way to get introduced to diving.

- Las Laminarias: There are several sites in Tarifa with seaweed laminaria, but on the east side of the island, in the midway of Las Piscinas, you'll find the ideal spot for a medium-difficulty dive. It is conveniently located and ideal for those doing PADI courses in Tarifa. The vistas are breath-taking, and we recommend going in the summer when the colours are brighter and contrast with the sunlight reflecting off the water. Octopus, anemones, squid, and salemas can all be found here. La Laminaria is undoubtedly one of the top diving spots in Cádiz.

- La Garita: Located north of Playa de Las Palomas, between Las Tres Piedras and La Punta del Nido, La Garita is a popular diving and photographic location. Crustaceans, merlins, anemones, and bream can be found at this dive location, with a maximum depth of 12 metres. La Garita is distinguished by the fusion of colours found in the area's vegetation and fauna and makes for the ideal place for underwater photography.

- Punta Marroquí: The well-known San Andrés wreck, the remnants of a 19th-century ship at a depth of 25 metres, may be found here. This is a diving destination for both beginners and experts, as you may dive to a depth of 45 metres and see the wreck's grandeur. It is located on the east side of the island of Tarifa, and it is recommended that you have a diving certification and be accompanied by a professional.

- Las Calderas Wreck: The history of this wreck is unknown, but the three boilers that stick out among the wreckage are intriguing. Its attractiveness makes it an ideal diving location for individuals who enjoy diving and photography.

- Wreck of the Puerto Pajares: Are you an experienced diver looking for the best dive location in Tarifa? Then this dive site is ideal for you. This ship sunk in the 1970s and is located at a depth of 30 metres, is only accessible to the most experienced divers. It is located near Los Lances beach, adjacent to another wreck known as the Cetus.

The wreck is ideal to visit in the summer, and if you're a really adventurous diver, we recommend exploring the ship's engine room; once you've done so, you'll understand why.
