The number of places to dive seems infinite, so, in order not to saturate you with many locations, we are going to tell you some of the best diving spots in Fuerteventura. We will take a tour of the entire island with the most iconic places, starting from the south, going up the east coast of the island until we reach the north and then going down to the west.

Where are the best places to go scuba diving in Fuerteventura

- In the south of the island, you can dive around the Jandía peninsula , and a corner that we recommend is the area known as Veril Grande. Find a diving session or initiation session in this area because it is worth it, and you will find many activities. This diving area is located in front of the Jandía lighthouse, just 200 meters from the coast. Diving sessions take place between 10 and 20 meters, but after that limit, you will find a place that reaches about 40 meters. This corner is home to black moray eels, bream, chucos and even angel sharks. If you are lucky and have a license, excursions to greater depths or other areas await you, so you could even come across elegant whale sharks and devil rays.

- To dive east of Fuerteventura, you will have to go to Caleta de Fuste. Here you will find many places to dive which are well protected from strong currents and have a seabed mixed with white sand and pebbles. You will find diverse marine life here, and its protection makes it a perfect place for diving. Without a doubt, in this part of the island, we love to dive along the El Jablito beach. It is another ideal place for beginners, but much more beautiful and relaxed. At most you can go up to 15 meters deep and therefore the entrance to the sea is usually from the coast. It is another place that is also strongly protected from currents and has a seabed of pebbles and white sand. The speciality of this place is that you will see endless banks of long bicudas, surprising spider crabs, bream, and angel sharks. In short, a more exotic and buzzing marine life! - You cannot miss diving in the north of Fuerteventura, where the most emblematic area of the island is Corralejo. The magic of Corralejo is that you can dive through clear turquoise waters, and you can discover the life that exists on the Isla de Lobos. However, there is a diving point in Corralejo that stands out above the rest at El Bajón del Río. Around this area, you will see a seascape full of the most curious volcanic rock formations. You can dive up to 18 meters deep and see underwater cliffs of volcanic origin that host diverse and colourful marine fauna and flora. You will be surprised by the schools of fish that swim in this area, but especially by the multicoloured tapestry of sponges that decorates each stone.

- Finally, to the west of Fuerteventura, you can go to the town of Pájara, a piece of coast at the foot of the Betancuria Rural Park, an immense volcanic, desert and arid environment that suddenly merges with the Atlantic. You can find beaches where you can dive, embraced by massive ocher cliffs and dark tones, and with sand of a colour close to black. Its orography makes the currents strong and that only those with a lot of experience can dive.
