Shellfish workshop on Arosa Island 2 hours

Would you like to get a closer look to the day-to-day work of shellfish pickers in Pontevedra? We have prepared a very special plan for you to enjoy with the whole family in Isla de Arousa, Pontevedra.

The place where we will teach you all the secrets of this ancient tradition in Galicia is totally safe and accessible for the whole family. Our locale pickers will teach you how to pick the shellfish up and what you will need in order to do it correctly.

Professional picker Marta Iglesias will guide you all along the way, sharing with all the participants her passion for this admirable work. You will learn the different picking techniques and identify the different species of oysters, cockles, etc. To finish off, we will also teach you some of the trading techniques to sell the fish and earn money with it.

We will provide you with all the garments, such as a raincoat and a pair of wellington boots, if necessary, so you will feel like an authentic picker for one day. Just bring comfortable clothes.

The activity's schedule will be subject to the island's tide and sea level of the chosen day.
