Description of Guided tour of the historic neighborhood of Avilés
Do you want to know the history of the city of Avilés? On this guided route you will visit the different areas of the city, which are easily differentiated by era.
These areas are: medieval, baroque and modern. With an experienced guide, who will explain all the interesting details of each area we visit, we will see the ancient churches of San Fransico, Santo Tomas de Canterbury and San Nicolás de Bari.
We will take a tour of Ferrería, Fruta Rivero, Galiana, or the Valdecarzana palace. We will admire Indian-inspired houses, we will see the Orbón brothers square, and the patch, the Ferrera park... And we will remember the three main Avilesinos in history: Carreño de Miranda, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and Palacio Valdes.
Groups must be a minimum of 4 people, so if you are thinking of inviting a friend or family member to get a little acquainted... this is the time!
You can do this route any day at 6:00 p.m., the time at which you will meet the guide at the Parque del Muelle. The route will last about 2 and a half hours, so we recommend that you bring water and something to snack.
