Description of Guided route stories and legends of old Madrid
The guided route that we offer you here has one objective: to transport you to Medieval Madrid. It will be an urban walk through the streets, squares and corners of Mayrit or Magerit. We will discover all the stories, real and legendary, that they hide. We will tell you how a small town, of only 4 hectares, managed to replace Toledo as the capital of the Kingdom of Spain.
We will see what remains of that Madrid, how it was organized, who ruled it, where the first churches stood and how Muslims, Jews and Christians coexisted. We will talk about knights dressed to the nines and medieval tournaments; of virgins and miraculous saints, of curious sayings and proverbs; of uses and customs; of the coat of arms of Madrid, as well as bears, cats and dragons.
In addition, the route is directed by agraduate in Geography and History, so the data it will offer you is more than verified.
