Hiking and biodanza Gerês December bridge

Do you have the December bank holiday and are you looking for a good plan to get away? Join us in an immersive experience through the natural spaces of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, for 4 days!

It is an environment belonging to Portuguese territory, on its border with Galicia. In this place, we will be able to do four different routes and get to know its mountains, the courses of its rivers, the waterfalls and the lush forests. Quite an experience!

The excursions are made through roads that do not have signage, so we have a professional guide so you can guide the group at all times in these places. We are going to move around very recondite areas, which only some expert shepherds and walkers know.

The routes are not technically complicated, but some are extensive or have some unevenness, and since we are going to do 4 consecutive routes in these days, it is convenient that you are accustomed to walking on the mountain. These are the programmed routes:

-The first tour, Seven Bridges route, Thursday, December 6: We will leave from the border territory of Portela del Hombre, to head towards the Sierra Amarilla, heading south. We will see the impressive Mata da Albergaria forest and continue our itinerary through the valley of the Homem river. We will find the bridge of Ribeiro das Gramelas, very close to the dam of Vilarinho das Furnas. We reach Mata da Albergaria and go back to the beginning, passing by beautiful waterfalls. They are 9 km, which are covered in 5 hours. The difficulty is moderate.

- The second route, Blue Well Route, Friday, December 7: we will leave Tribela and we will know the transparent waters that fill this pool. While we walk we will see some high peaks, such as the Black Rock or the Rock of Pias. In the first section of the tour, we will see the Arado waterfall, the best known for its spectacular nature. It is at a height of 750 meters. Other places that we will see in this crossing are Curral da Malhadoura, Curral de los Puertos or Puente de las Sierras. They will be 11 kilometers in total, to complete in 7 hours. 

- The third route, Leonte, Pe do Cabril and Varciela Route, Saturday, December 8: This route is made to the north, to reach Pie de Cabril, at an altitude of 1235 meters. The road will allow us to know Prado del Tirolión and Cabello, before reaching Prado Amarillo. We will discover the typical flora of the area, such as carqueixa or xesta. We will continue through Campo de Gerês until we reach the forest area of Mata da Albergaria, from where we will see Vilarinho das Furnas. We will make the descent by Leonte. We will complete 10 km in 6 hours, on a moderate level route. 

-The fourth route, Preguiza Route, Sunday, December 9: Our last route will be round and an easier one than the rest of what we have done these days. We will walk among endless forests of chestnut trees, strawberry trees, hornbeam, and pine trees. We can see a spectacular lake when we are 650 meters high, in Casa de la Preguiza. We will also observe Caldas del Geres. We will arrive at Cantina, a viewpoint at 800 meters to see the whole area. We will enjoy watching the waterfall in the waterfall of Leonte, and we will cross the river Gerês. It will be 4 kilometers, which we will do in 2 hours.

But not everything is going to be walking. The other pillar of this getaway is biodanza. It is a technique that uses body movement and sound to try to connect better with yourself and with the environment around you. Together with a professional in this discipline, two learning sessions await you.

And, how about ending this magnificent experience by entering the spa of Lobios, bathing in the thermal waters that emanate from the Caldo River. This activity will take place on Sunday afternoon, before the end of the break.

For this plan you will have accommodation in a double room for 3 nights, breakfast and dinner, picnic and lunch on Sunday, to say goodbye.
