Description of French Camino de Santiago on horseback 7 days
As a nature lover, you have decided to travel the Camino de Santiago, but in a different way and yes, you can do it on the back of a one of our horses. A new challenge awaits you and we are ready for you to be part of it!
In this case you will travel on one of our horses the well-known French Camino de Santiago by O Cebreiro. A route of 7 stages in which you will merge into the Galician nature and discover the most magical corners of the pilgrimage route until you reach the Plaza of the Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela.
On the starting day we will pick you up at the Santiago airport and then go to El Cebreiro, there we will spend the night and meet all the pilgrims who will share this with you >equestrian experience.
The next day, and with renewed strength, we will begin our journey along a mountainous itinerary where we will reach more than 1300 meters, it will be a path of ups and downs where we will enjoy a typical landscape of the area with small livestock towns.
According to our estimates, we will arrive at Samos, we will find large chestnut and walnut trees on our way and we will listen to the flow of the Oribio River and we will be amazed by the Benedictine monastery of the 9th century as Samos Gate.
In the third stage, our goal will be to reach Portomarín, a medieval town where we will stay at its national inn. But not before riding through leafy areas, rivers with crystal clear waters and getting to know the fortress of the Villa de Sarria. We will regain strength with native food and we will head to Portomarín to be able to rest.
The next day, we will ride along green trails that will make you immerse yourself in a green jungle. During this tour you will share the environment with livestock that inhabit the area freely and you will meet the protectors of the road in Vilar de Donas: the knights of the Order from Santiago.
On the fifth day, on the back of our horse we will face the stage Palas de Rey - Arzúa, a famous region for its elaborate cheeses! Valleys, forests, feudal castles and villages. We will be able to taste typical cheeses from the area and we will rest in Arzúa to face the last stages.
On the sixth we will depart from Arzúa and heading towards Santiago de Compostela, where, climbing theMonte del Gozo, you will be able to have a first panoramic of the cathedral. On the last day we will carry out a stage of 4 kilometersand we will end this equestrian experience in the Plaza del Obradoiro
* To do the experience, we will need at least a minimum group.

Description of French Camino de Santiago on horseback 10 days
We know, you have also decided to take the French Camino de Santiago this year. It sounds and is really exciting, but nothing compares to the plan that we want to propose to you to break conventions, doing the Camino de Santiago on horseback from the town of Astorga strong>. Will you join our equestrian team?A 10-day horseback journey that will make you feel like you are in a tale of fantasies and adventure, with everything already thought of, from materials and itinerary, to transportation and accommodation. Did that sound good to you?
For this expedition we will pick you up in Santiago and take you to the rural accommodation in Rabanal, the nerve center of the horseback route from where we will begin the adventure . Throughout the entire horseback trip, we will always have a double room in rural houses or hostels that will be close to our itinerary.
After the pick-up and transfer to the accommodation, which will be the first day, the horseback excursion along the Camino de Santiago will begin. On the second day, the journey will “officially” begin, and we will go from Rabanal until we reach Ponferrada, but not before passing through Molinaseca, to do so We will reach great heights through the mountain passes.
On the third day, we will leave Ponferrada in the morning with our horses and we will travel through a stage characterized by being a flat and short section, to reach the Bierzo wine area, where we will taste typical dishes of the area and finally we will arrive at El Bierzo to enjoy visiting religious monuments.
On the fourth day, a climbing stage awaits us, but the beauty will make us forget about it. It will be a hard stretch for both the horse and us through forests loaded with vegetation until we reach O cebreiro.
The fifth stage and we will go from O Cebreiro to Samos, passing through Triacastela first. Spectacular views await us in these municipalities and towns, a mountain landscape at more than 1,300 meters above sea level. We will face the typical Galician orography, irregular, full of ups and downs, and with valleys covered with hidden cattle villages. We arrived at Samos winding along the Oribio River, under the protection and shadow of endless groves guarded by chestnut and oak trees. After passing through its thick vegetation, at the gates of Samos we are welcomed by the 9th century Benedictine monastery.
The next day we will leave Samos, shamelessly entering forests crossed by translucent rivers. Its channel will guide us to a fortressRoman that watches over the town of Sarria like a sentinel. Taking advantage of the situation, we will visit this town to later taste the exquisite cuisine typical of this region. After regaining our strength, we will head to our last destination of the third day, Portomarín, where we will have dinner after arriving and rest for one night.
During stage number 7, we will leave from Portomarín to visit Vilas de Donas and Palas de Rei. This is an itinerary that takes place along winding paths and through valleys completely dotted with green meadows, a symbol of the livestock tradition of this region. This will be how we will enter Vilas de Donas, land that protects the Knights of the Order of Santiago, the protectors of the road. After touring this area full of history and legends, we will arrive at Palas de Rei, where we will spend the night.
Arzúa awaits us now on our eighth day, where we will enjoy a horseback route through fertile valleys and again, full of extensive and magical forests . Our walk will be adorned by the typical stately architecture of Galician lands and we will come across beautiful pazos and feudal castles. Finally, upon arriving at Arzúa, exhausted, we will taste local cheeses before dinner, and after dinner, we will rest to face our next visit with recharged batteries.
We will receive our ninth day with a very close glimpse of the end, as we will depart from Arzúa and head towards Santiago de Compostela. Its paths lead us to Monte do Gozo, where we will see how the emblematic Santiago de Compostela Cathedral rises majestically, where we will be just a few kilometers away.
Our last day, we will do a 4-kilometer stage to reach the Plaza do Obradoiro, where we will visit the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. After the imperative photographs that we will take in front of this work of architecture, we will end our 7-day horseback journey and we will say goodbye until the next adventure.
