Horseback riding through the Iron Belt and Sopela

You are about to discover one of the most fascinating horseback routes that you can do in the entire Basque Country, and that is, for 1 hour You will jog through the Iron Belt, one of the historical spaces of our province that can best be seen from the Spanish Civil War.

Although the duration of the equestrian route is about 60 minutes, we do recommend that you be at our equestrian center about 20 minutes before leaving so that we can make contact with the animal and that our rider-guide who will accompany you throughout the journey will tell you briefly what the experience will consist of.

Our geographical situation in itself is wonderful since we are on the outskirts of Larrabetxua, in the heart of the Asúa Valley. There our horses live freely and you will notice that in their character as soon as you approach the one who will take you to see this fortress built in 1936 by Alejandro Goicoechea under the command of the Basque Army.

This set of trenches and bunkers were built in order to defend Bilbao from any enemy attack. However, its assault by the rebel brigades did not support its structure 100% and neither did the defense of the city, as was its purpose.
