Path of the births Júcar and Cuervo 1 day

Live the great hiking experience you were looking for, in the heart of the Serranía de Cuenca Natural Park. Through our itinerary we want to show you the places where the Júcar and Cuervo rivers are born.

We take you to the point where the excursion begins. It is located in the Strait of San Blas and is 1430 meters high. We will walk along 1500 meters, walking in the opposite direction to the course of the Júcar. We will arrive at the source of the Júcar River, in the Strait of Hell.

But our journey has only just begun, practically, and from here we will continue the ascent, between pine forests and hills. We will reach the division between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean basin.

After having overcome a drop of 700 meters, we can now see the peak of San Felipe, which with its 1838 meters, establishes the objective that we will reach. Once reached, we will begin to descend towards the Cañada del Perro, 500 meters below.

It is easy to see animals such as fallow deer or deer as we pass through these mountain forests. Also huge birds such as the griffon vulture, eagles or Egyptian vultures.

We will finally reach the source of the Cuervo River. We will stop here so that you eat the picnic and you can rest. The final prize will be to enjoy its waterfall on limestone rock.
