Snowshoe excursion in the Ball of the World 5h

Are you thinking about visiting the mountains of Sierra de Guadarrama this winter? It is a great opportunity to join on an expedition up to the Bola del Mundo with snowshoes. 

Our trip will start in the parking lot of Puerto de Cotos, where you will meet with the professional guides who will give you all the necessary equipment and explain how to use it correctly. 

Once you are ready, we will hike up the Loma del Noruego on our way to Peña del Águila. From there, we will continue our ascent until we reach Alto de Guarramillas, which is also known as "Bola del Mundo" (The Globe), which is 2,262 meters above sea level. 

We will take a break as we enjoy the views of the mountains of Sierra del Gredos, especially Peñalara mountain, with its 2,428 meters that make itstand out from the rest of the Guadarrama . Once you have recovered your breath, we will proceed wiht out itinerary, but backwards, and head to our starting point to then finish our expetidion in Venta Marcelino, a local food restaurant in Cotos. By the end of out trip, we will have walked about 10 km. 

This is low-medium difficulty kind of track. All you need to do in order to join this activity is be used ton long-distance hikes. 

You will need to bring you winter clothes, mountain boots, a backpack with food and drink for our picnic. You will also need to bring your sunglasses and sunblock.
