Snowshoeing to Sierra Gistredo in Salentinos

Our snowshoe route through the Gistredo mountain range leaves no one indifferent and turns out to be the perfect fusion of fun and adventure. For this journey, we will go to Leonese lands, to the Salentinos district, belonging to the El Bierzo region. For this snowshoe outing, we will undertake a linear route of 6 to 9 kilometers. Our meeting point will be in the surroundings of Salentinos, here we will meet and receive a brief explanation of how to use these utensils, and once ready, our adventure will begin. You will only have to get to this Leonese town with your warmest snow clothing and something to eat and drink, we will take care of the mountain guide and the technical materials, in addition to giving you a hot drink .

Our snowshoe excursion begins in Salentinos, from here we will take the Braña path, which will give us the opportunity to get to know the great diversity that protect their mystical forests full of pine trees, which the natives of the area have called El Pinar, due to the abundance of trees that we find here.

In a short time we will suddenly come across a waterfall that originates from the Chavanes stream, it will be the best way to begin our snowshoe route, since the fact of crossing a forest and being greeted by a hidden waterfall, will transport us to a fantasy story. After passing this part, we will reach the meadows of Campo la Vegia. This part will be the turning point of our snowshoe excursion, as we will see how Pico Catoute suddenly emerges, tracing its silhouette on the horizon. From this point we only have to enjoy the silence of the mountain, listening only to the breeze running through our body and the snow sinking step after step and once we feel satisfied our desire to contemplate Pico Catoute in its maximum glory , our return route will begin.
