Teruel is a city that shapes its history around Mudejar art and the legends of the Middle Ages. As the main emblematic place, there is the Mausoleum of the Lovers of Teruel. His story moves everyone who hears it for the first time or from our guides. The building was designed by Alejandro Cañada and you can learn about the history by touring the different rooms it houses. In Sector I you will be placed in the context of history with the social, political and cultural characteristics of the 13th century. You will continue with the History of the Lovers, Juan Martínez de Marcilla and Isabel de Segura. In Sector III you will contemplate the works that its history has influenced and, later, you will visit the Lovers' Rest with its mausoleum.

Another destination is theChurch of San Pedro from the 14th century. It is the quintessential construction of Aragonese Mudejar art, based on a floor plan with a single nave and an apse. The side chapels are crowned by the typical ribbed vaults. During the visit to its interior, you will see the renovations undergone in the pictorial aspect. Its Cloister is also open to the public and is one of the four cloisters that are still in Aragon. It has neo-Gothic decoration and was the place where the Lovers of Teruel rested.

On the outside, there are the Apse and Los Jardines de San Pedro, declared World Heritage by UNESCO along with the Mudéjar Tower. Mixtilinear arches and green and white glazed ceramics prevail, delighting everyone who sees them. The interior is reminiscent of an old Jewish quarter. The Tower went from being an element of strength to a construction fully coupled to the urbanization of the city. It consists of three floors and currently you can climb to the bell chamber. You will be able to access the Ándito, where you will walk around the outline of the building from the outside contemplating the stained glass windows and the rose window.

Come and get to know Teruel from its deepest history with the Fundación Amantes de Teruel.
