Discover one of the most impressive monuments in Portugal, the Batalha Monastery. Declared World Heritage by UNESCO since 1983, it is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal.
It is in this monastery where the Manueline style mixed with late Gothic is used for the first time, although its main style is Gothic and its construction lasted from the 14th to the 16th century. strong>

One of the most important rooms of the Batalha Monastery is the Founder's Chapel where you can see the tombs of John I and his family. But no less important is the Chapter Room, covered by a star vault in which the tomb of the "unknown soldier" is located.
One of the most notable areas of this Monastery are the Unfinished Chapels where the later monarchs of Portugal are buried. After the death of the architects of said Monastery, added to the war and other complications, these are found outdoors. Of course it is a most unusual and incredible piece of architecture.
