Albaola Maritime Museum gives you the opportunity to learn about the Basque culture that is so closely linked to cider and the sea.
With us you will be able to witness live the construction of the ship San Juan, which is an exact replica of the whale ship of the same name that sank hundreds of years ago, specifically in 1565, in Canadian waters.
Our center is accessed by sea so you will enjoy a brief, but beautiful, walk through our waters. Once at the museum we will tell you the history of the ancient whaling ship while we discover the current history of our land. We will explain theship construction processand you will be able to see the progress we have already made on it.
Each experience will be truly unique because the production process never stops. Each visitor will have a different vision of the San Juan ship.
If you want, you can sponsor a piece of the ship and be able to say that you have done your bit to rebuild and preserve our history. This is a very important fact because if we know who we are we are nobody.
After this beautiful and educational visit, we recommend that you stop to eat at one of our traditional restaurants and enjoy our best dishes accompanied by our delicious cider.
