Club Marítimo Canido

At Club Marítimo Canido we have the mission of promoting the passion for dinghy sailing in the surroundings of Vigo. That's why our headquarters are located at Canido Pier. We have been setting this goal since 1999, the year we put our Dinghy Sailing School into operation.

It is a nautical activity that can be enjoyed both in its playful aspect and in its professional sport aspect, to promote principles as important as camaraderie, safety regulations to continue in the sea and respect the marine environment.

And for this reason, we present to you our variety of courses for future sailors in the Atlantic waters that we do not only in the summer months but at any time of the year, as long as we have the sufficient number of students to form a group. Age will not be an impediment:

• Children's initiation to sailing training for children between 8 and 13 years old for which we will use the boat adapted to our pupils: an Optimist sail, ideal for having a first shot of contact with this world.

• Sailing baptism course for over 14 years old. On this occasion, we will also use our Optimist and Requero sailboats. And it is recommended that any beginner in this traditional way of moving through the water get started with this type of boat.

• And for sailors who want to continue perfecting their piloting technique, our lessons aboard a Laser 4.7 or a Laser Radial.

We have focused on the practical part, for which you will have to wear the life jacket during the sea days. You will also receive theoretical instructions on the handling of sailboats, the necessary equipment and the history and origin of this practice. In short, you will receive all the necessary training to aspire to participate in the regattas that we also prepare at Club Náutico Canido.

In our facilities you can also enjoy our restaurant and its terrace facing the Cíes Islands, as well as changing rooms with showers. And what you will like the most, our space intended for docking boats, which has a ramp that will take you directly to the water.
