With the 2004 vintage, the first wines of Bodegas Jorge Ordoñez saw the light. Its facilities are located in the term of Almáchar, in the heart of the Malaga Axarquía, a mountainous region of steep slopes and slate soils, next to the Mediterranean.
It is one of the most traditional wine-growing areas in Europe. Bodegas Jorge Ordoñez became the first winery established in Velez, since the traditional destination of these grapes was the production of raisins.
With a philosophy of innovation and a constant search for quality, these wineries produce from old vineyards of Moscatel de Alejandría, naturally sweet wines from the Denomination of Origin Malaga and a Dry Muscat from the Denomination of Origin Sierras de Málaga.
With the naturally sweet Bodegas Jorge Ordoñez pays homage to the past and thus the winery recovers a style of wine from Malaga before s. XVII, when, with the first exports, the practice of leading the wine was introduced to preserve it from long boat trips.
