Finca MariSánchez , a crossroads since time immemorial, is one of the most beautiful properties that can be found on this land. Located in the southern area of La Mancha , known as Campo de Montiel, Miguel de Cervantes placed the beginning of the exploits of his most universal character, Don Quijote de la Mancha, in these lands. Natural border between the Muslim and Christian kingdoms, preserves since the Middle Ages the three characteristic crops of the area: vine, olive and cereal .
All this in an environment of great natural and landscape wealth , which will allow you to enjoy and discover the heart of one of the most beautiful enclaves in the wine region of La Mancha. Finca Marisánchez allows visitors to enjoy a place where tradition and modernity live in perfect harmony.
In Finca Marisánchez hospitality has a particular flavor and color with which we want to impregnate anyone who has the pleasure of joining us.
At present, the vineyards of the Farm occupy an area of 280 Ha where 500,000 strains grow in total , of which the Cencibel or Tempranillo represents 80%. The remaining 20% goes to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah as red grape varieties, in addition to Chardonnay and Viura or Macabeo, as white grape varieties.
Sectorization
Finca Marisánchez has 800 hectares of land , of which the part located in the margins of the swamp is destined for the cultivation of cereal, while the olive grove and the vineyard extend into the most arid areas of the interior of the farm. In the northeastern part of the plantation most of the hill is located under native.
In the year 84 the investigation of soils and zoning begins to find the best location of the vineyard within the farm. For this, the east-facing hillside part was chosen, whose solar exposure and maximum height of 700 meters made it the right place for red varieties, looking for the coldest areas for white varieties Chardonnay and Maccabee.
Since its inception the plantation was divided into five vineyards, whose traditional names allude to the property's own history: El Jaque, Casa Pacico, La Jarilla de los Ladrones, Cerro de las Colmenas and Cerro of the priest. Each of the wines produced by Bodegas Real comes from an area selected within these five.
Type of soil
Depending on the zoning different types of loam-sandy or silty-clay soil are distinguished or, with boulders of metamorphic stone, slate and sandstone typecalcareous. There is a layer of between 15 and 20% of clays and under sand, which gives it a high degree of permeability.
Climate
The climate is extreme continental , characterized by very cold winters and very hot and dry summers, producing strong thermal oscillations throughout the year. The average annual rainfall varies between 350 and 400 ml / m2, the rainiest seasons being autumn and spring, always very irregular.
Driving type
In those plots that have old strains, the vessel conduction system is preserved . However, 90% of the plantation that was originally planted in a glass has been transformed during the years to the trellis system , not only in order to facilitate the collection work but also to facilitate certain cultivation techniques such as green harvest, green pruning, clearing and aeration . These operations are only performed if necessary, seeking a balance between sun exposure of the clusters and protection from high radiation.
Irrigation system
Due to the excessive dryness of the land during the summer drought, from the beginning a drip irrigation system was established in Finca Marisánchez that feeds on two rafts built inside the farm and whose water comes of Cartesian wells.
Production
According to the plantation framework, Finca Marisánchez has an average yield of between 2 and 3 Kg per strain , except in exploited plots for sale in which the productions are higher. Bodegas Real does not elaborate all its own production at the moment because the vineyard is expected to have sufficient vigor and strength after rooting for more than 10 years. However, we are prepared for the gradual growth of demand in the futurenext.
